United Nations

Week 30: World War II IDs

Nations Unite!

In April of 1941, Roosevelt and Churchhill proposed that an organization be created

in which the Nations could work towards maintaining security and peace.

In January of 1942 and October of 1943, the nations agreed on certain principles for these "United Nations."

The first blueprint was created in October 1944, and was signed by 50 countries June 26, 1945.

The majority of these countries ratified it on October 24, 1945, at which point it officially came into exsistence.

Central Hall opens in January 1946, and rules of meeting established.

The decision for a permanent location is decided the following month, and the construction of the new building begins in 1949.
