The Heat is On!

 

Also called Fervidor. (in the French Revolutionary calendar) the 11th month of the year, extending from July 19 to August 17.

 

 

During the French Revolution, Maximillian Robespierre was sent to the guillotine on the 9th of Thermidor. This action ended the Reign of Terror. Historians may use the term "thermidor" to refer to a revolutionary phase in which power shifts away from the original revolutionary leadership. After the Reign of Terror ended, there was a shift back to pre-revolutionary ideas.
