Week 12: Early Americans IDs
Mita
Mita is a form of mandatory public service that was done as a tribute to the Incan government. Mita was necessary in public work projects such as the military and building public facilities. All citizens had to perform this duty if they were capable of doing so. When the Spanish used this concept, they turned it into a form of slavery.
