 Gulf War One


  • August 2, 1990-February 28, 1991
  • Led by the United States as told by the UN
  • wanted to free Kuwait
  • Operation Desert Storm is the name of the airland operations
  • Operation Desert Sheild protected Saudi Arabia
  • 12 countries sent naval forces to help
  • before the war the US sent economic and military aid to Iraq
  • possibilty of attack on Saudi Arabia

Gulf War II


  • March 20, 2003
  • GWB wanted to get the "weapons of mass destruction"
  • concerns of terrorism
  • today many nations are withdrawing troops
  • Iraq was given many chances to stop making weapons they failed to comply
  • GWB declared to war won May of 2003
  • still being fought today
  • Saddan Hussein was captured December of 2003
  • many civilians fighting now
  • suicide bombers
