Japan's Hitler

Emperor Hirohito was the 124th emperor of Japan. He became the emperor after the death of his father.
As it was written in Japan's constitution, the emperor could not take advice from his ministers and staff. This rule caused Hirohito to order his advisors to put down a newly organized military rebellion against the political leaders. The leaders of this organization were killed.
Although he did not want to, Hirohito supported the war against China and the invasion of Manchuria.
He was the emperor, but the military held almost all power in Japan (such as General Tojo)
However he was quick to approve the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
After the US atomic bomb was dropped on Japan, Emperor Hirohito did not want to see his people suffer even though they already had. He announced Japan's surrender in the war. This announcement was the first time that the people had ever heard the emperor's voice.
