 Chinese Communist party

Who- The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is the ruling political government of the people's republic of China. This title is given to them by the constitution which is in place in China.

Mao Ze dong was one of the early leaders of the Party.

What- The Chinese Communist party became the governing body of China when they won the a civil war over the National Government of China.

Where- The Communist party was started in China by students in the 1920's, but did not take over the goverment until after WWII.

When- The Chinese Communist Party took over China with its defeat over Kuomintang who led the National Government.

Why- The Chinese Communist party decided to overthrow and take control of the Chinese government because they wished for all people in China to have a fair and equal opertunity (the way a communist government is suppoesed to run). However, like usual, those in power wanted more power and it has transformed more into a dictatorship where the government has limitless power and control of everything.

How is it important- It is important because China is now one of the most powerful nations in the world. This is scary because they are also the most heavily populated. The U.S. government is on good terms with China; however, if that were to change then they could potentially become our biggest threat.
