Week 13: Medieval China IDs

Tara Parker

Neo-Confucianism is a form of Confucianism. It is different from Confucianism in that Neo-Confucianism includes philosopies about nature. Neo-Confucianism was changed to be more like the dominant Daoism and Buddhism. The new change happened during the Song Dynasty. It was seen by Neo-Confucianist, Zhu-Xi, that Confucianism lacked the philosopy of nature. The changes added more of the ideas represented in Daoism and Buddhism even though the followers were against Daoists and Buddhists.
